Add to home screen
Put GameDay on your home screen.
It takes about fifteen seconds, and afterwards GameDay opens from its own icon — full-screen, already signed in. Here are the exact steps for the phone or computer you're reading this on.
Any phone or tablet
- 1Open thegameday.app in your device's main browser — Safari on an iPhone or iPad, Chrome on Android.
- 2Open the browser's menu: the Share button on an iPhone or iPad, the ⋮ menu on Android.
- 3Choose “Add to Home Screen” or “Install app”, then confirm.
GameDay then opens from its own icon, full-screen, with no address bar — and your pool stays one tap away on game day.
Send it to anyone in your pool who's stuck. It's an easy one to remember:

Not your device?
Every other way to add it
We guess your browser from the device you're reading this on, and it's only a guess. Here are the rest — find the one that looks like yours.
iPhone or iPad · Safari
- 1Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing out of it.
- 2Scroll down the list and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- 3Tap “Add” in the top-right corner.
On an iPhone the Share button is in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. On an iPad it is at the top, next to the address bar.
Android · Chrome
- 1Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
- 2Tap “Add to Home screen” — some versions call it “Install app”.
- 3Confirm with “Add” or “Install”.
“Install app” and “Add to Home screen” do the same thing here: both add the GameDay icon and open it full-screen, without the browser's address bar.
Android · Samsung Internet
- 1Tap the menu (☰) at the bottom-right of the screen.
- 2Tap “Add page to”, then choose “Home screen”.
- 3Confirm with “Add”.
Mac · Safari
- 1With GameDay open in Safari, click “File” in the menu bar.
- 2Choose “Add to Dock”.
- 3Click “Add”.
Add to Dock needs macOS Sonoma (14) or later. On an older Mac, use Chrome or Edge instead — or add GameDay to your phone, which is where most people want it.
Windows · Chrome
- 1Look at the right-hand end of the address bar for the install icon — a small screen with a downward arrow — and click it.
- 2No icon? Open the browser menu and choose “Cast, save and share” → “Install page as app” in Chrome, or “Apps” → “Install this site as an app” in Edge.
- 3Click “Install”.
This gives you a GameDay window and a desktop shortcut. For the icon on your phone, open thegameday.app/install on the phone itself.
Still stuck?
The five things that usually go wrong
There's no “Add to Home Screen” in the menu
You're almost certainly in an app's built-in browser rather than a real one. Open the ••• menu and choose “Open in Safari” or “Open in browser”, then try again. On an iPhone, Safari always has it.
The menu says “Install app” instead
That's the same thing — Chrome on Android words it differently depending on the version. It adds the GameDay icon and opens it full-screen.
Nothing happens when I tap Add
Check your home screen pages and your App Library or app drawer — the icon is usually added to the last page, not the first one you're looking at.
I'm in a private or incognito window
Private browsing blocks installing on most browsers. Open GameDay in a normal window first.
It opened, but it still shows the address bar
You've opened the bookmark rather than the installed icon, or the page was added as a plain shortcut. Delete the icon and add it again from the steps above.
